Weigh-In: Connerly Bayou

September 27, 2009 :

This was the first leg of the four event Team Championship Tour. The big story going into this Championship Team event was that Lake Chicot was in a periodic purposeful draw-down. The draw-down is down aboutt every five years in order to increase the shallow grass vegetation for fish habitat. Good enough reason for me.

The Friday night dinner with the wonderful folks of the Chamber of Commerce was nothing short of fantastic. Lamb Roast, Herb Potatoes, Salad, and French Bread had everyone in a great mood. Mayor JoAne Bush even had me eating out of her hand.
All of the following City Representatives served their community well:
City Council Members - Joe Dan Yee, Jerry Williamson, and Sammy Angel
Mayor - JoAnne Bush
Chamber Board of Directors - Joey Williamson (lead Chef), Randall Tuggle (Pres.), Anita Norcross (V.P.), Monica Hillman (Sec.), Richard Cox (Tres.), Greg Bland, Benjie Allbritton, Linda Moreland, Amanda Murdaugh, Renee Jones, and Lisa Raby (Ex. Dir.)

First tournament day started off with heavy rains which tapered off and gave way to clear, blue skies.

Second tournament day was a beautiful sunny day.

Anglers Update :

Both Newton Ford and E.K. Koserog were released from the Lake Village Medical facility at approximately 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon in good health.
Newton had an unexplained blackout in the boat during Sunday's competition and fell and hit his head. He spent most of the day in the fine care of the Lake Village Medical Centers care and is doing better.
E.K. had a irregular heart rate and perhaps fatigue upon reaching the weigh-in on Sunday afternoon. He and his partner managed to win the tournament just prior to E.K. being transported to the Lake Village Medical Center. The photo taken and posted is from the weigh-in site at Connerly Bayou. E.K. too, is doing much better. Now, I'm no Doctor but, my guess is E.K. has never won $10,000.00
